The base station network in the field
Devices send their position through LoRaWAN base stations. If a base station goes offline, devices near it may stop updating until it recovers. The app shows this directly.

The devices use two different radio technologies. LoRaWAN reaches far on very little power; NB-IoT relies on the mobile network. Together they cover situations where either alone would not. Porokartta covers Finland, Sweden and Norway.
